My favourite print ad ever
I remember being a kid at my primary school in north London and seeing this poster stuck up close to the kitchens. I remember being utterly mesmerised, horrified and never, ever letting a fly land on my food again.
When I get asked what my best ad is, this is always the one that I cite.
Based out of truth; beautifully written; brutally effective.
It's one of my favourites too. Brilliant writing.
My favourite print ad would still have to be The Economist's 'Jordan' though. Tip top.

Even more interesting is why the government would want to warn people that a fly on food is a bit icky. I mean people don't get seriosuly ill from flies landing on food do they?
And if so, why do we no longer have these public safety campaigns. I think it says something (not sure what) of the particular culture of that time. :)

Oh God. How brutally explicit. It reminds me of this one time when I spotted a fly on my food. The images the words give me are painfully clear, too. I guess it means that the ad has done its job. The copy is more than effective. I only hope that it hasn't scarred too many a kid back in the day.

I remember seeing maggots in some meat at school when I was about 8. I kid you not.
