The point is a fine one - if really old - but the visual is just awful and wrong. The circles shouldn't intersect.

Isn't the intersection the point?

Or maybe I'm just being pissy.

i'm thinking about this and how to communicate effectively on Twitter, since my boss, friends and peers are on there. what's appropriate to share? how much, how personal, how insightful, how useful, etc. i think could be a way to find that happy intersection for all 3 constituents, no?

I'm increasingly thinking there's huge crossover in all of these areas as we become constantly 'on'...
...it's not so much the 'when' stuff is done, as you'll do things in evenings and weekends that are work related, and you'll spend an hour sorting personal stuff at work.
It's just really a big amorphous blob of 'your time'; you've just got to allocate it well.
It's still 'work/life balance', it's just not in clear divisions like '9-5' anymore. But people realise this quicker than companies I guess...

Did anyone hear the Radio 4 prog on procrastination - I listened to it to avoid working. Some companies are now installing sophisticated s/ware to track everything office workers get up to. The software takes snapshots of your PC screen so management can check on personal email use, surfing etc. It may soon not be possible to blend work and personal life to the same extent

pleasing is only a means to the end of social capital.
and you can get to that end in other, more sustainable and non-mutually-exclusive means.
impressing, for instance.
